ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be 16 years and over
Participants must have:
  • the physical capacity to be able to meet the demands of the practical skills demonstration  including gaining access, working, and egress from a place of height whilst wearing the appropriate PPE
  • sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
  • a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number is required prior to enrolments being processed. To obtain a USI number, please go to www.usi.gov.au to register
  • enclosed shoes

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

This course is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge to work safely at heights in the resource and infrastructure industry including: 
  • Identify work requirements
  • Identify work procedures and instructions
  • Access and install equipment
  • Perform work at heights
  • Clean up work area


ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

Assessment will take place on more than one occasion over the duration of the course with an opportunity to learn and practice skills and knowledge between each assessment. Assessment tasks may include written assessment, oral questioning, workplace observation & demonstration of techniques in the workplace or simulated workplace.
