This course will equip participants with the knowledge & skills to fulfil their role as an elected HSR under the WHS Act 2011.

Participants will be trained to meet requirements of the legislation & become equipped to perform an active & competent role as a member of a Health & Safety Committee or as a Health & Safety Representative in the workplace.

Daily Breakdown:
• Day 1 - Workplace Health & Safety framework
• Day 2 - Consultation, Representation & Participation
• Day 3 - Role of the HSR in issue resolution & minimising risks
• Day 4 - Inspections, Notifiable incidents & incident investigation
• Day 5 - Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) & Ceasing unsafe work

Course information:
• It is a requirement that the Health & Safety Representative course runs for 5 days
• Participants must attend all sessions to be eligible for a Certificate of Attendance
• Participants of the Health & Safety training courses will need to provide evidence of identity which includes a photo ID and documents with current address (100 points)
• For practical sessions enclosed footwear is required
• A SafeWork evaluation form is to be completed by participants at the end of the training

Duration: 5 days Face-2-Face Training 

Cost: $700.00 plus GST per student

Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm


This course is non-competency based & has no formal assessment. Informal assessment will take place based on participant attendance & student engagement. The facilitator will act as the assessor in this process. In addition there is no RPL for this process.


Participants who successfully complete all sessions of HSR training will be issued with a certificate of attendance, a copy of the certificate will also be issued to the students direct PCBU.
