Participants must be 16 years and over 

Participants must have:

  • the physical capacity to be able to meet the demands of the practical skills demonstration.
  • sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course.
  • a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number is required prior to enrolments being processed. To obtain a USI number, please go to www.usi.gov.au to register.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

This course is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge required to confine small emergencies in a facility and applies to occupants who are required to have first attack firefighting skills including:

  • Prepare for emergency situations
  • Identify and assess emergency
  • Safely confine emergencies
  • Use initial response equipment
  • Report facility emergency response


ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

Assessment will take place on more than one occasion over the duration of the course with an opportunity to learn and practice skills and knowledge between each assessment. Assessment tasks may include written assessment, oral questioning, workplace observation & demonstration of techniques in the workplace or simulated workplace
