ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This course has a pre-requisite unit:
- PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
Proof of completion is required
Participants must be 16 years and over
Participants must have:
- the physical capacity to be able to meet the demands of the practical skills demonstration.
- sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course.
- a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number is required prior to enrolments being processed. To obtain a USI number, please go to www.usi.gov.au to register.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES
This course is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge required to make decisions about the safety of occupants during a facility emergency and to give instructions on the priority order for responding to an emergency incident including:
- Prepare for an emergency in a facility
- Undertake pre-emergency planning
- Take appropriate actions in an emergency
- Conclude emergency
ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
Assessment will take place on more than one occasion over the duration of the course with an opportunity to learn and practice skills and knowledge between each assessment. Assessment tasks may include written assessment, oral questioning, workplace observation & demonstration of techniques in the workplace or simulated workplace
