ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be 16 years and over
Participants must have:
  • the physical capacity to be able to meet the demands of the practical skills demonstration 
  • sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
  • a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. This is required prior to enrolments being processed. To obtain a USI number, please go to www.usi.gov.au to register
  • enclosed shoes

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

This course is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge required to conduct telescopic materials handler operations including: 
  • Plan and prepare for telescopic materials handler operations
  • Operate telescopic materials handler in line with established requirements
  • Attach, secure, lift, carry and place materials to complete work activity
  • Select, remove, fit and use attachments for a telescopic materials handler
  • Relocate the telescopic materials handler

ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

Assessment will take place on more than one occasion over the duration of the course with an opportunity to learn and practice skills and knowledge between each assessment. Assessment tasks may include written assessment, oral questioning, workplace observation & demonstration of techniques in the workplace or simulated workplace.
